I work in the NHS and in the private sector as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, and maintain a specialist interest in working with individuals with clinical health problems and in particular pain related difficulties.
My practice is outcomes focused. Very often my clients have a particular goal in mind, whether it be returning to work or improving relations with family members. I work with clients from an initial assessment to their discharge with a focus on helping them achieve their goals.
Over the years I have developed a range of clinical assessment, formulation and intervention skills across a range of presenting difficulties in people across the lifespan. I prefer to work collaboratively with clients to develop an understanding of their problems and to assist them in “helping themselves”. I am able to use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic, Psychodynamic and Integrative models/frameworks from which to best make sense of a person/and or family difficulties. Alongside this I aim to deliver strategies such as models of adjustment, resilience and coping and acceptance to clients and their families.
I meet with clients face to face at The Albany Centre, 4 Victoria Street, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3JD. For a map and directions please visit http://thealbanycentre.com/contact-us/
I can also undertake assessments and further sessions via Zoom, Skype or Teams.
